It seems like every voice-over job is being snapped up by celebrities these days. From commercials (Gene Hackman for Lowes, Jeff Bridges for Duracell) to narration of TV shows (Sigourney Weaver on Planet Earth) producers now want a famous face to go with the voice.
But Mike Rowe has beat them at their game. Now the voice-over star of American Chopper and The Deadliest Catch has thrown off his headphones and run around in front of the camera. I love him as the host and number one dirty guy on Dirty Jobs. Now he's evev got an on-camera commercial endorsement for Ford trucks.
Sure, most of us voice-over folks aren't as ruggedly good looking as the dreamy Mike Rowe (...I admit to harboring thoughts of being his "dirty-girl"). But it does give the rest of us hope that maybe someday we'll get that dream gig that will lead to fame, fortune and strangers blogging about us.

Uh, wait a minute
You can't visit my site if I don't list it (she wipes the drool off her face) - beth.harris.net.
I guess I'll get the hang of this eventually.
Welcome to my blog
Everything I've read and heard lately says having (and updating) a blog on your website increases the number of search engines that track your site.
My name goes up in the rankings, more people visit my site, more people listen to my demos and I get more work and make more money. Wheeee.
Why anyone would give a rat's rear end about my vapid ramblings is beyond me - but I'm willing to give it a try.
Just discovered a great new free program that I use to do my billing called blinksale www.blinksale.com/ Create, save and send invoices on line - it's easy, fast and free (or pretty darn cheap if you send more than three invoices a month). Check it out if you are a small business and struggle with billing and book-keeping. It keeps track out outstanding and past due invoices and you can post payments or export to Excel. I like it.
